Larry Summers is Back in Form

During his two years in the Obama White House, Larry Summers gave a number of interviews and took questions following speeches.  He spoke slowly, every third word an “uh” or other pause in his remarks.  He stumbled, bumbled, and mumbled in stonewalling to avoid direct answers.

David Faber of CNBC interviewed him at the late January Davos 2011 gathering.  His answers were clear, crisp, and straightforward, without any “uhs” and “ahs.”  It’s amazing how public service turns brilliant intellectuals into stumbling political spokesmen.
