The Sons of Barack Obama

Remarking on the tragic death of Trayvon Martin, President Obama said on March 23, 2012, "If he had a son, he'd look like Trayvon."

President Obama is a product of Chicago politics.  Emanuel Rahm and Bill Daley, two of his former chiefs-of-staff, are both of Chicago politics.

Between January 1, 2007, and March 25, 2012, 2418 homicides were tracked in Chicago.  Blacks constituted 70.9% of the murder victims.  Those aged 15-30 were 58.9% of the victims; 441 were aged 15-20.

For the first six months of 2011, blacks were 74.6% of murder victims in Chicago and made up 61.1% of murder offenders.  Blacks constitute 36.8% of Chicago's population.  Blacks are disproportionately victims and offenders.  Statistics for the first half of 2010 can be found here.

By way of comparison, U.S. troop fatalities in Afghanistan between October 7, 2001, through February 29, 2012, amounted to 1,900, of which 1,524 were due to hostile causes.  Chicago homicides during 2007-March 2012 substantially exceeded U.S. military fatalities over the duration of military operations in Afghanistan.  Another comparison reveals that Chicago homicides since 2003, the start of the Iraq War, rival total U.S. troop fatalities of 4,486 in Iraq.

How many of the young black boys might also look like President Obama's sons?  Chicago is President Obama's home base.  How many thousands of young black male murder victims in Chicago would have looked like Trayvon Martin?  When will the president, the mayor of Chicago, and the community organizers active in Chicago put a stop to these tragic murders?
