On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau, son of former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, was sworn in as Canadian Prime Minister, replacing Conservative Party leader Stephen Harper.
On October 20, 2015, during the campaign, Trudeau promised that if he became Prime Minister, he would withdraw the 6 CF-18 fighter jets from the U.S.-led coalition fighting ISIL in Syria and Iraq. He said he would keep the 70 special forces ground troops to continue humanitarian aid and training.
Obama wasted no time in payback. Forget all the stated reasons for Obama's decision to nix the pipeline. The real reason was to put Trudeau in his place. Blocking the project will cost Canada billions in lost business, billions in lost revenue, and thousands of jobs.
Perhaps Trudeau will think twice the next time he crosses Obama!
