Golden Anniversary Celebration

On September 1, 1968, I began my first full-time academic job as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Rochester.

Fifty years later to the day, on my Academic Golden Anniversary, I am launching a new website,  It presents my research on four themes:  economic freedom, tax policy, race and ethnic relations, and aging policy.

I recovered copyright on 10 solely authored or coauthored books that are out of print, which are posted as free download.  Another three are posted as free download courtesy of the publishers.  One set of essays is posted as free download.  Four foreign translations of The Flat Tax are posted as free download.  Five books are posted with purchase links.

My site also includes articles, videos, and a CD video I made in 1980 on Hong Kong’s free-market economic development with a purchase link.

In assembling the publications for posting, I was struck by how many of the older works are as pertinent to current issues of economic freedom, taxation, ethnic and racial conflict, and the financial costs associated with a growing elderly population as they were 25, 35, and 45 years ago.

My web site also contains links to my two blogs, one on global adoption of the flat tax and the other covering a broad range of domestic and foreign topics.

I would be delighted if you saved my site in your favorites or bookmarks.  Please  look in from time to time to read my latest comments and delve into my earlier writings as they pique your interest.

Congratulations on this milestone, and thank you for making your articles and books available. I read one from 1981 and just sort of sighed that it sounded like today (on race).

Congratulations Professor. I was one of your students that first year at the U of R, and enjoyed your class a great deal.

Nice share about this Golden Anniversary Celebration. It must have been so much fun. My parent’s anniversary is also coming and I would love to throw a vintage party for them. Would love to recreate their actual wedding day and hoping to be successful at it. Going to book a vintage event space NYC for that.
